The Beginning

Where It Started -

LiveBait.com was created by a group of passionate anglers who believe catching your own bait is part of the fishing experience.

Like many serious fishermen, we rely on one essential tool more than anything else — the cast net.

But for years there was always the same frustration.

Most cast nets on the market were built as generic, one-size-fits-all products. Heavy, poorly balanced, and poor constructed.

That's where the idea behind LiveBait.com began.

Captain Mike, a lifelong fisherman along the Florida coast, was one of many anglers frustrated with the gear available.

Instead of settling for what was on the market, he began building nets the way he believed they should be built — balanced, efficient, and designed for specific bait.

At first they were just for him and a few friends.

It didn't take long to see that we were catching more and doing it in few throws.

During the pandemic, Mike began sharing tips and techniques on his YouTube channel ReelReports.

What started as a handful of instructional videos quickly turned into something much bigger — a community of fishermen helping each other catch more bait and fish smarter.

From that community, LiveBait.com was born.

Today the LiveBait.com family includes anglers from across the country and around the world who share the same passion for fishing and the same standards for gear.
